Procidre to get admission in NIOS | NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF OPEN SCHOOLING admission procedure

  Transfer of Credits (TOC) Facilities. Ex-Secondary/Senior Secondary students of the following Boards of School Education who have passed in at least one subject, but have not qualified in the course, may seek admission in the respective course at  NIOS and avail facility of TOC. You will have the option to get the credit transferred to a maximum of two subjects, provided these subjects are passed in the last five years The credits will be given only in those subjects which are included in NIOS scheme of studies and the scheme of examination. TOC in the subjects having practicals at Sr. Secondary level will be allowed only when you are pass in theory and practical separately. You will have to give full details of the TOC subjects and marks obtained on the Admission Form. You will have to attach the original mark sheet issued by the respective Board. Setting up of  NIOS Started as a project on "Open Schooling" under the Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE ) in 1979. Established in 1989 as the National Open School (NOS) by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development ( MHRD ). In 1990, the Govt. of India through a Gazette notification vested NOS with the authority to examine and certify learners registered with it up to Pre-Degree level Courses. Re-christened as the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) in July 2002.
